Lovage (occasionally called love parsley) is a herb related to parsley, dill and celery. It has broad, flat leaves similar to cilantro and a flavour similar to celery, though sweeter and quite a bit stronger.

Lovage is used in European cooking to add flavor to soups, stews, stocks, plus meat and vegetable dishes. You can use it much as you would use celery leaf or parsley, but be careful – the name “lovage” comes from (or has led to) it supposedly having aphrodisiac effects!
